New Journal

This is the start of a new journal... the cover is done now and these are the beginnings of the first two pages... I have a few other backgrounds for a couple other pages, too, but haven't scanned them yet. So far I'm happy with how it's turning out.

Neat Magazine

Got this last night after work... I've been looking all over town for it... finally found it at a scrapbook store down in Grove City (not close to me!). It's worth a look if you like blogs... reading them or making them. It looks like it will be an on-going magazine coming out 4 times a year. It's put out by Somerset Studio/Stampington & Co. I'd even been to several of the blogs mentioned in it.

A new little journal is born

I started a new little Moleskine journal. The cover is still in progress, and I got the first page done. I want to get some backgrounds done in it ahead of time the journal the pages later. That worked well in my Zettiology journal.

Crush on You

Here's my entry (so far) for Crusade 12... Crush on You. I like this one but it's hard to narrow down the things I love or crush on.... I started with cats and then came up with two others that start with the letter 'C' and as I added the back ground I realized I must use my favorite stamp image... checkers! And it also starts with 'C' so it was perfect. I want to do more but this was what I've had time for so far. This is a fun challenge. It's made me think of things I've always loved (or seemed to) and things that have been a passing fancy. I do tend to stick with things I love and keep on liking stuff even if it goes out of style for the rest of the world... I think the clog thing has been with me since my first pair in 3rd grade! Fortunately they've come back in style several times since!

If you are interested in participating in one of the crusades go to Michele Ward's GPP Street Team site and check it out.

What Number Are You

You Are 9: The Peacemaker

You are emotionally stable and willing to find common ground with others.
Your friends and family often look to you to be the mediator when there is conflict.
I found this on Cindy Dean's Blog and went and took the fun quiz and this is my number...you can go find yours.

You are easy going and accepting. You take things as they come.
Avoiding conflict at all costs, you're content when things are calm.

At Your Best: You feel connected, trusting, and fulfilled. You feel at peace with your place in the world.

At Your Worst: You compromise your values to make sure peace is maintained. You give in to bullies.

Your Fixation: Harmony

Your Primary Fear: Causing conflict

Your Primary Desire: To preserve things as they are

Other Number 9's: Marge Simpson, Ronald Reagan, Audrey Hepburn, Jerry Seinfeld, and Abraham Lincoln.

Mail Art

Here's some mail art I did some time ago for a friend at work who did me a favor... it didn't get mailed to him, but still, it's a decorated envelope, I love to do them. This was a new "technique" I had developed at the time of stamping directly onto the paper with my Colorbox Chalk pads, making blocks of color and then stamping over that in black or dark colored inks for the images.

I was inspired by GPP Street Team's challenge/crusade... I hope to do a new one soon... what an awesome blog and challenge! I've found so many fun blogs from that site to explore... everyone seems to be having so much fun with the crusade. If you are interested go to:

Finally a couple new ATCs

A New ATC book and an old one

I found a new ATC book at the book store last night.

It's pretty nice, loads of ATCs and good ideas. I like that its focus is on stamping. I'm getting back to that lately. I love to see all the different ideas and themes. I hope I have time this week to work some more.

This is a book I've had... and recently dug up from one of my boxes. I had been looking for it for a while now. It has some interesting techniques I'd like to try out.

I'd recommend either book if you find them at your local bookstore or library. We all need inspiration now and then!

A real deal!

I got three of the Gryphon and Sabine books by Nick Bantock this weekend at the bookstore for a great deal. I'd always put off getting them because they are kind of expensive... and although they are wonderful, they seem a little extravagant. Well I saw them for $2.99 each so I got a set of 3! This is the second series. His work is so lovely and it's such a neat idea that it has things that pull out and unfold that you can examine. That's why it is really cool to own them. I recently got a few of his books from the library, but it's just not quite the same. If you haven't already seen them, be sure to check them out... either at the library or the book store.

On Top of the World

I found a way to download her from my flickr site... so here she is!

More creations

Got back to my "roots" so to speak, of stamping some ATCs... haven't done that for a long while. These are all on glossy white card stock and I made the backgrounds first using the Chalk inkpads... two colors for each card. Layered on top images in black ink and some other colors and embellishments attached.... stamps, fiber, brads, a slide mount... these were fun. I also have another digital one but that's on the other computer and will have to add later.

Another Digital ATC

"Is it live or is it Memorex?" It really looks like cut and paste... very 3D!

ATCs

Two more for the blog... these are hand done, cut and paste.

Lunch Sunday

The last lunch in the week-long series. A quick lunch at Wendy's before going in to work at The Container Store from 1-6. A salad and a baked potato. Pretty good. I resisted the urge to get a Frosty.

Lunch Saturday

Lunch Saturday at Skyline Chili... I got a craving for a 3-way. There aren't many Skylines around as there used to be. I went clear up to Morse Rd. to go to this one... and did some shopping, too at the new age shop Gentle Winds.

Friday the 13th...lunch

Lunch at Noodles today on lucky Friday the 13th! I had my Dreamweaver class today and we broke for lunch so I went to Noodles. Since it was early I got a parking spot, which 'aint easy there. The soup had good flavor, but I didn't like the chunkiness of it. I forgot to photograph the sign which I'd done at the other places.

When in Doubt...

...have a pout! Hey, it works for me, at least sometimes! :)

Two digital ATCs tonight

Two ATCs I made tonight. Decided to go digital for a change.

Lunch Thursday

Lunch today: a quick lunch at Subway, a BMT sub (provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, green pepper and black olives) with chips and a drink (Pepsi). A lot was going on at work because of the announcement that Gordon Gee was returning as President of OSU... quite a stir!

Lunch Wednesday

Lunch Wednesday at El Vaquero Mexican restaurant (one of my favorites). I had the Speedy Gonzalez which consists of a taco, enchilada and beans. Had a water to drink (I was good today).

Lunch Tuesday

Lunch at Rooster's on Tuesday. Mozzarella cheese sticks and a side salad and a fruit punch to drink.

Monday lunch

Monday's lunch... at Johnny Rockets. Hamburger, fries and a shake. Maybe not the healthiest, but it sure was yummy! Went to Barnes & Noble after and got the two books shown in the earlier post.
