Here's a great blog article on kick-starting your creativity... by fiber artist Marcia Harmsen Young. I enjoyed it and think you might, too. I feel good that I do at least a few of the things that she mentions. We should all try to include creativity in our lives more often and as much as we can! http://www.valleyfiberlife.com/2009/04/textile-and-fiber-arts-how-to-sustain.html
Check out this super cool (such a poor descriptive word, really) book that my friend, Sharon, made just for me for my birthday! She has such great ideas and imagination... words can't express how touched I always am by her handmade gifts. They have touches of our friendship embedded all through them and reflect how deeply she knows and understands me. I especially love the specific references to silly life events, like my recent visit from a bat... she includes with such humor... I will always remember that now when I see the book!
My birthday card from Sharon this year. Very moody and mysterious... reminiscent of the eerie computer games we like to play together when I visit her. We really enjoy the puzzle, adventure, mystery games like Myst, Crystal Key, Rhem and Nancy Drew, to name a few. We both have our strengths and weaknesses that generally compliment eachother... I know I couldn't do most of the puzzles on my own without her help! I get really stumped on the math-related puzzles in particular! She does great with scenic stamping, which I haven't mastered yet. Many of her stamps are from Stampscapes.com you should check it out if you like this card...their stamps are really great!
