More photos of the park

A trip to the park

I was off yesterday and took a nice walk to the park that I live a few blocks from. I took the camera and snapped some photos. I should do this more often!

Flipper

My first ebay purchase arrived last week... a Flipper in the box just like the one I had when I was little. I just love it. It's really neat all that you can find on ebay... almost scary even, but cool. It is exciting to "win" something on there, I can see how it could get addictive for some people.

Enjoy them while they're coming!

More inspiration has struck and I made several more ATCs last night. Enjoy the rush while I'm on a roll. I got several nice comments from yesterday's lot from some people who viewed them on my flickr site. It is so neat and yet bizarre that people from all over the world are viewing my work and commenting to me about it. I know I find a lot of really neat stuff on flickr, and I haven't even scratched the surface! I couldn't tell you where the inspiration for these pieces came from, just grabbed some art to clip up and went with each image as I found it. I really like the "That figures" one... it just seems so like what she is thinking. I liked doing the ship one... something different for a change. Baby Doll is a little creepy but funny. The postage stamps on the one called Leisure Postal are ones I got on one of my trips to England.

The creative streak continues

So again last night I was geared up to make a few more cards, even though I didn't get home from work until nearly 9:30. I'd been waiting all day to work on them though. I got three done and here they are. Maybe with the holiday coming up I will have time to be even more creative, we will see.

Finally more new art!

I finally got around to making some more art, if only a couple so far. I have had a few other distractions going on the last few months, but among all of that, I got the dining room where I craft somewhat cleaned up... so now I can get back to making stuff! Here are the first two attempts at getting back in the swing of it.

And here is the second one... had to get my all-time favorite "Beehive Boy" stamp in there again! I couldn't even tell you why I think he's so cool, just that I guess he's unique and different.

1884 Journal

June 20 - Bill and I was plowing my field. Got done in the evening. Hell of a hot day. Anna was here. Bill was about to (something?) Hot enough to roast a horse.

June 21 - Father went to Brookville. I was laying around all day. Bill was at home in the shade. Mother and I went to Fairfield in the evening. Hot as can be. One (100) hundred.

I've been tagged (sort of)...

On Sunberst's blog (for Illustrtaion Friday) I read: "I am tagging whoever wants to make their own list. if you want to participate, consider yourself tagged by me. just let me know if you do, so that i can visit."

Here are the rules: Each person who gets tagged posts 6 weird things on their blog and state the rules. Then choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Leave a comment that says "you're tagged" in their comments and tell them to read your blog for instructions.

I can't do this this moment but will as soon as I have the chance. Sounds like fun!

Illustration Friday: Sprout

My first attempt at an Illustration Friday piece of art. I decided to go digital this time because of the idea that came to me. Can't wait to see what next week's theme is. Click on the image to view it larger. The quote is: Imagination is more important than knowledge - Albert Einstein

Good quote

Just saw this and wanted to post it:

My television debut

Ok, yesterday I was on tv. It was only for about 15 seconds or so, but I was on tv. Coming out of Subway after lunch a news reporter said hello in a friendly way and started chatting... then asked if I'd say what I told him for the camera... so I said (hesitantly) "sure." It was a story about insurance companies requiring people to get cheaper parts for their cars when repaired... not original, dealer parts. I had told him about my Dodge Charger that didn't have air conditioning and they put it in after the fact and it never worked right and that I always take my car to the dealership to get it fixed. That was my 15 seconds of my 15 minutes of fame. Good thing, it was cold, I was all bundled up, squinting into the sun and had no lipstick on so I looked pale as a ghost. So much for a television career!

A couple more ATCs

Two ATCs I did on the computer yesteday, inspired by...Cats!

New Cards I bought yesterday

I found these cards at the bookstore last night. I love the artwork on them and the sentiments are based on the Law of Attraction that I read about in a book last year that really inspired me. They are called "Ask and It Is Given" cards by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

Synchronicity part 2

Ok, another wierd coincidence to report. I managed to lock my keys in my car before going in to work. I realized this upon leaving work and we called security and they helped me get into the car (rather quickly, actually)... so as I drove out of the parking lot and switched on the radio... the first commercial that came on was an OnStar commercial about a guy locking his keys in his car! I had not heard this commercial ever before.... other OnStar ones, but never this one. How bizaare. I guess there's nothing to say, but life is interesting sometimes.

Some new ATCs

Here are some new ATCs I made yesterday. Some of the words are inspired from a deck of cards I got that are "the Power of Intention" by Wayne Dyer.

My Zettiology Journal

This is my Zettiology art journal, inspired by books I got this Christmas: Alphabetica: An A to Z Guide for Collage and Book Artists by Lynne Perrella, Artists' Journals and Sketchbooks by Lynne Perrella and Visual Chronicles by Linda Woods and Karen Dinino. These were all very inspiring. So I took my little Moleskine notebook/journal (the little ones that come three to a pack) and started coloring pages and stamping my favorite Zettiology rubber stamps into it... Zettiology stamps are from Teesha and Tracy Moore (I believe they have a website at zettiology.com if you want to check out their stuff...it's awesome. They do journals, too. Take a peek and see what crazy stuff came out of my brain in the last few weeks. If you want to see the pages closer, just click on the image to see a larger view. (I did them in two "chunks" so they stayed in order).
